Terms of Use

1. Scope
These terms of use apply to the use of the Uppetite app (hereinafter "App"). By using the App, you accept these terms. The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under 13 years of age, you may not use the App.
2. Description of the Service
Uppetite is an AI-powered recipe app that:
- Recognizes ingredients from photos (via Google Gemini Vision)
- Generates personalized recipe suggestions (via Google Gemini)
- Offers a step-by-step cooking mode
- Manages cooking history and favorites
3. Free Use
The App can be used for free with the following limitations:
- 3 recipe generations per month
- 1 photo per generation
- 2 recipe suggestions per generation
- Basic filters (Vegetarian, Vegan)
4. Premium Subscription
Available Plans:
- Monthly: $4.99/month
- Quarterly: $11.99/quarter
- Yearly: $39.99/year
Actual prices are displayed in the App Store and may vary by region.
4.1 Premium Benefits
- 30 recipe generations per month
- Up to 3 photos per generation
- 5 recipe suggestions per generation
- All filters (Low Carb, High Protein, Keto, Paleo)
- Calorie filter and nutrition information
- Recipe reroll (3x per day)
- Recipe images
4.2 Subscription Terms
- The subscription is processed through Apple In-App Purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID.
- The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can cancel the subscription at any time in Apple Settings → Subscriptions.
- Upon cancellation, Premium access remains active until the end of the paid period.
5. Free 7-Day Trial
- The 7-day trial is free and non-binding.
- No credit card required.
- The trial ends automatically after 7 days – no subscription is started.
- You can end the trial early at any time.
- After expiry, you automatically return to the free tier.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU)
As an EU consumer, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal. However, for digital content the following applies:
- By purchasing a Premium subscription, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of digital content.
- You acknowledge that you thereby waive your right of withdrawal once the provision has begun.
- The free 7-day trial is not affected by this – it can be ended at any time.
You can cancel your subscription at any time at the end of the current period (see Section 4.2).
7. AI-Generated Content
Important Notice:
- Recipes are generated by artificial intelligence (Google Gemini).
- Recipes are suggestions and do not constitute medical or dietary advice.
- If you have allergies or intolerances, always check the ingredients yourself.
- Nutritional information consists of estimates and may vary.
- We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of generated recipes.
8. Disclaimer
- The App is provided "as is" without guarantees of availability or freedom from errors.
- We are not liable for damages arising from use of the App or from preparing AI-generated recipes.
- AI-based ingredient recognition is not perfect – always verify recognized ingredients manually.
9. License
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your Apple devices in accordance with these terms and the Apple Standard EULA.
10. Intellectual Property
All content of the App (design, text, code, logos) is the intellectual property of the developer. Use is permitted exclusively within the scope of the App.
11. User Conduct
You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purposes. In particular, the following is prohibited:
- Decompiling, reverse-engineering, or tampering with the App.
- Circumventing security mechanisms of the App.
- Copying or redistributing App content without permission.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the App if these terms of use are violated. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and, if applicable, canceling your subscription.
13. Apple – Third-Party Notice
These terms of use are between you and the developer of the Uppetite App – not with Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to this agreement and assumes no obligations with respect to the App, including but not limited to:
- Maintenance or support of the App
- Warranties or liability for the App
- Handling of third-party claims related to the App
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms of use. Upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple shall have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted that right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Use of the App is additionally subject to the Apple Standard EULA.
14. Changes
We reserve the right to update these terms of use. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you within the App.
